Reviving Tradition: The Art of Pottery in a Modern World
The traditions that date of Indian workmanship are sometimes disregarded in the fast-paced, contemporary world of today. Cooking in pottery is one such ancient craft that has gradually disappeared from daily life. However, these age-old customs should once again find a place in our homes as we transition back to a healthier, more environmentally friendly way of life.We at Ecoclay Creation are dedicated to preserving this rich history. Indian kitchens have traditionally had a particular place for earthenware, which has numerous health and culinary advantages. Not only does clay’s inherent mineral makeup increase to food’s nutritional value, but it also gives it a unique flavor that contemporary cutlery just cannot match.
Because clay is porous, it retains moisture and circulates heat more effectively, giving food greater flavor. In addition to being used for cooking, clay objects like water pots offer naturally cool, fresh water—a custom that is becoming less common these days but that many people recall from their childhood.
Ecoclay Creation aims to reignite this connection to our roots by creating modern yet traditionally inspired pottery. Each piece we craft pays homage to the legendary potter Sant Gora Kumbhar, whose legacy still inspires artisans today. Our products are not just functional; they are a statement of cultural preservation, ensuring that the art of pottery thrives in this modern era. With a blend of timeless artistry and contemporary design, Ecoclay Creation helps you bring tradition back into your home, one clay pot at a time.
"The Humble Artisan with a Grand Vision"
Everything started. A childhood obsession with digging soil with a ball, yes a ball of clay. The rest of the children used to play with toys and I (Vishal Chavan) used to shape the balls of clay. Then the same balls start to become beautiful clay objects and ecoclay creations began
A family in a small village is headed by Vishal Chavan, a man with a vision, mission, and passion. His parents are Ganpat and Savita Chavan. Even so, there are still minor residues of clay goods in some rural areas of India. But in people’s memories, time has wiped their memories. The Shree Chavan family wants to bring back fond memories and raise awareness of the advantages and applications of soil products.
Vishal Chavan and his family, who are originally from the village of Awasari Budruk in Pune, Maharashtra, now narrate the story through ecoclay creations. But she doesn’t stop there—she also delivers you works of art that are rooted in tradition and the natural world, where the soil itself is a symbol of love and cultural history.
